Opening the romance / گشایش منظومه

We opened Gorgāni's romance, situating it in the late Parthian world it imagines and the 11th-century Seljuk court that received it. We read the opening invocation and discussed Vladimir Minorsky's hypothesis on the poem's Pahlavi sources.

منظومهٔ گرگانی را گشودیم و آن را در جهان اواخر اشکانی که تصویر می‌کند و دربار سلجوقی سدهٔ پنجم که آن را پذیرفت، جای دادیم. مناجات آغازین را خواندیم و فرضیهٔ ولادیمیر مینورسکی دربارهٔ سرچشمه‌های پهلوی این اثر را بررسی کردیم.
